Abstract

It is a very interesting exercise to go back to the first few editions of our own proceedings and examine the areas of research that occupied the attentions of our members around 60 years ago. While the tools we use today are far superior to the techniques of their day, many of the questions asked have changed little over that time. Our research is still mostly related to how we can make better or more efficient use of our animal and land resources to produce a range of products to suit the markets of the day.
