Hill Country Symposium 2016

8am Tuesday 12 April -
4.30pm Wednesday 13 April, 2016

Papers are called for a joint special symposium to be held by the New Zealand Grassland Association (NZGA), New Zealand Society of Animal Production (NZSAP) and New Zealand Grassland Trust (NZGT).

The Hill Country Symposium (HCS) plans to bring together existing knowledge, hear what leading farmers and practitioners are doing, and set direction for the future of New Zealand’s hill country.
The hill country is not only an iconic part of New Zealand farming, but is fast becoming the key finishing platform for the sheep and beef industries as flat land is lost to other enterprises. In the last 25 years there has only limited research to support this.
The HCS seeks to raise the profile of the New Zealand hill country and set direction for future research and change to allow continuation of profitable and resilient farming systems.
