Abstract

Recent interest in mating ewes at non-traditional times has increased the risk of sporidesmin poisoning (facial eczema) during mid to late pregnancy and lactation. In this pilot study, autumn mated ewes dosed with sporidesmin during pregnancy were used as a model to study the effects of sporidesmin poisoning on production.
