Abstract

The effect of post-ruminal infusion of protein or energy on the pathology of Trichostrongylus colubriformis infection and body composition in lambs was investigated by a comparative slaughter experiment. Lambs infected with 3000 larvae/d were infused with casein (50.5 g crude protein/d; PI) or glucose (isocaloric with casein infusions; EI) or solvent/diluent (SI).
