Abstract
Changes in plasma concentrations of cortisol, ACTH and free fatty acids were evaluated as quantitative indicators of stress in pigs of stress- susceptible and stress-resistant breeds. The changes in these concentrations following loading, transport and subsequent resting in lairage were examined.
