Abstract
The implications for sheep breeding of objective measurement of the wool characteristics fibre diameter, medullation, length after carding, loose wool bulk, colour, and vegetable matter are discussed. For the purpose of this discussion breed differences are categorised into fine, medium, Romcross, higher-bulk, crimpy, lustrous, and medullated wool types
